Theme

At first, I thought theme was the author's message about life, but I learned that this was not exactly right. Actually, theme is a central idea or insight about life and human nature that gives a story its meaning. Some themes are universal, which means that they envolve eveyone in its meaning. Themes are can be found in all genres of literature; the five main genres of literature are non-fiction, fiction, poetry, drama, and myth. Since I now understand theme, I can find the theme of my favorite movie. My favorite movie is Juno. The theme of this movie is that safe sex is important and it can benefit someone if they finish what they started. On my theme pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will at least be at grade-level.
